According to Hotline On Call, Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) said that the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee "fully supports" Sen. Joe Lieberman (D-CT) in his primary bid against Ned Lamont (D), "and he refused to rule out continuing that support if Lieberman were to run as an independent."
Meanwhile, the AP says Lieberman "must soon decide whether to begin gathering signatures for a possible independent run." By August 9, the day after the Democratic primary, he'll "need to collect 7,500 signatures from registered voters to appear on the November ballot as an unaffiliated candidate."Schumer said that the DSCC "fully supports" Sen. I'm not sure Chuck would be wise in supporting an Indie-Joe. This will be very interesting indeed.
