C&L's Late Night Music Club with George Harrison
I remember as a kid listening to the eight track version of " The Concert for Bangladesh " over and over again. Harrison's "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" is truly a classic. (It takes a few minutes of introductions before it gets to the song.)
Kathleen C. Fennessy: "The players include Eric Clapton, Ringo Starr, Billy Preston, Leon Russell, and Bob Dylan, while the backing band includes Jim Keltner, Klaus Voormann, and the up-and-coming Apple band Badfinger (Phil Spector and Harrison produced). The concert took place on August 1, 1971 at Madison Square Garden and was released as a triple-album boxed set that December and a feature film in 1972. That year, it won the Grammy for best album."
Check out Tom Petty, Jeff Lynne & Prince's version at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
For something different: Steve Audio found this version "done by Jake Shimabukuro, who elevates the ukulele to a place previously reserved for Jimi's & Eric's guitars."
