...our government will never "be big enough to admit a mistake," certainly not so long as the current administration holds power. Even now, they ratchet up the fear-mongering about Iran more every day. Here's Bush's most recent contribution: "US PRESIDENT George Bush has called Iran a 'grave national security concern' but said he would seek a diplomatic way to cap its nuclear goals." As most honest commentators know and as I've observed before, this is diplomacy intentionally designed to fail, precisely as was true with Iraq. I heard Biden say this today on MTP:

The fact of the matter is that the administration’s gotten it right, in my view, finally, on Iran. They have joined with the international community so that we end up isolating Iran, not us being isolated like we were before, number one...
Nobody wants Iran to have nukes, but is he kidding? Does he honestly believe the administration on this point especially after he accuses them of incompetence at every turn? Hasn't he heard Cheney saying: "For our part, the United States is keeping all options on the table. We will not allow Iran to have a nuclear weapon." How does threatening Iran help us diplomatically? They've been labeled part of "the axis of evil," and I think that says it all already.
