When I hear this kind of memory loss testimony come from a "detail man" like Karl Rove for some reason Peter Gabriel's " I Don't Remember" pops into my head. Did the questioning go something like this?
Fitzgerald : Mr. Rove, who is the journalist that fed you Plame's CIA employment information?
Rove: I don't remember.
Fitzgerald: Where did the call take place?
Rove: I don't remember.
Fitzgerald: What time of day did the call take place?
Rove : I don't remember
Fitzgerald: Did you ever meet in person?
Rove: I don't remember.
Fitzgerald: Who is the President of the United States?
Rove: <silence>
Fitzgerald: Answer the question Mr. Rove.
Rove: I'm thinking...
