...the House of Representatives has completed passage of the complete elimination of estate taxes, what Republicans have shrewdly named -for public relations purposes - the Death Tax, and have passed it on to the Senate, where there is at least a wagering chance that some sort of compromise will be hammered out that will result in a dramatic reduction in that tax. If this is good news for you, congratulations; you are a member of an almost indescribably small fraction of Americans who would have been subject to the rigors of that tax and the Republicans came through for you. For the 99% of the rest of us, all it means is one more boon for the Man, and an extra kicker to the budget deficit that will haunt us for a generation through reduced services to the poor, the elderly, the suckers in the military who thought that offering to make the ultimate sacrifice came with some sort of quid pro quo, students, sick people, and pretty much any other category that doesnt start with the title 'Fat Cat"...
