SCHIEFFER :...Do you think he is becoming a liability to the Republican Party? Do you think he's been unfairly treated? What thoughts do you have on all this?

McCAIN: I don't know if he's become a liability to the Republican Party or not. It think that's a judgment that Republicans in the House and others will make. Congressman DeLay on the subject on the trips, were paid for by people who shouldn't have paid for it, said that he was told that it was paid by legitimate organizations, these trips were paid for by them. I'll take him at his word. So I'm not in a position to make a judgment about Congressman DeLay.
More here from Sunday Morning Talk.
McCain definetly could have put a spin on Delay if he wanted to. Of course he's in a position to judge him and instead he passes. Add him to the growing list of republicans that are not supporting Delay. Josh Marshall should start a new list of the number of Republicans that are tired of Delay.
Also of note, McCain is clearly against the "Nuclear option" and in favor that the filibuster remains.
