John Eisenhower, son of the late Republican president Dwight D. Eisenhower, penned an editorial for the Manchester Union Leader (NH) in which he declared his support for Sen. John Kerry. He said that after 50 years of voting Republican, including for George W. Bush in 2000, he changed his registration to independent after Bushâs unilateral invasion of Iraq. Eisenhower, who served as American ambassador to Belgium between 1969 and 1971, is the author of nine books, largely on military subjects.
